Every year we all make New Year’s resolutions and try to stick to them. I’m 26 now and I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve told myself that I have to lose weight. I make excuses after excuses, but enough is enough! I hear you say, but what is so different this year? Well, I’ve realised I’m getting closer to the big 30 and I am not going to be a ‘big girl’ then so I must do something about it now. I have decided to follow a diet plan preferrably online, because I don’t have time to go to meetings. I’ll also blog about my progress here for all of you to tell me off when I’m feeling the urge to fall off the wagon. Target weight loss is wait for it… 5 stones! I would like to go from a size 18/20 to a nice 12/14 so that I can walk into any shop and feel good. Now don’t get me wrong, I am a confident larger woman and I don’t care what other people think, but I seriously need to eliminate the health risks that can occur with obesity (gosh I hate that word). However, as I write this, I can only admit that being obese is not something to take lightly.
The NHS website provides a lot of tips, but my problem is lack of will power and not having a planned diet. The question is which diet plan do I follow? Weight Watchers or Tesco eDiets?
Weight Watchers is all about points and I hate maths and calculating points, so I’m not so sure about that one. However, it does follow the basic NHS advice of smaller portions and allows you to have treats within your points allowance. If I opt for the online version, I can track my progress and get recipies (oh how my middle sister will be pleased that I’ll be cooking more often, that’ll give her a rest) and all for £29.95 for the 3 months plan (the offer ends on 28th March 2010, but I’ll be well on my way to being a lighter me by then, I hope).
I’ve had a look at Tesco eDiets and it seems pretty good value for money, plus they offer a money back guarentee if you do not lose a stone in 8 weeks. Now that catches my eye, cos if I can lose a stone in 8 weeks, I’d be one happy bunny! The advantage of Tesco eDiets in comparison to Weight Watchers is that there are a number of diets to follow and their clever calculator recommends the best one to suit you (providing that you are 100% honest of course). I could try the plan for 8 weeks for £29.90.
So this is where you come in, which one should I try? There’s 5 pence difference between the two, but then I do get more for my money from Weight Watchers. Please help me on my quest to slim down and get into the clothes I love to blog about. Who knows if I get nice and slim I might treat myself to something from Mywardrobe.
